"The Signatories in Blood Brigade," mother of "The Masked Brigade" or "Al-Mulathameen” is headed by the wanted terrorist Mokhtar Belmokhtar (aka Khalid abu al-Abbas). The Signatories in Blood Brigade merged last month with the Movement for the Unity and Jihad in West Africa (MUJAO), forming a major Al-Qaida ally in the Sahel region named al-Murabitoune. Al-Mulathameen gained notoriety with the May 2013 brazen suicide bombings in Niger targeting a French uranium plant and Niger army barracks; and the January 2013 assault on a BP gas facility, bombing parts of the facility and taking hostages including US and European nationals, in In Amenas, Algeria.
