DescriptionHangu is a District in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Pakistan. The District takes its name from the town of Hangu, which is its administrative centre. The name Hangu may also sometimes be applied to the Miranzai Valley which is partly within the District, bordering the Samana Range. The District has administrative history of 1904 as Sub division of Kohat District which was upgraded as District in 1998. It is bounded in the North by Orakzai Agency, in the East by Kohat District, South – West by Karak District and in the West by Kurram agency. The limits of District extend from Khawaja Khizer (Jozara) to Toot‐Kas (Thall) covering a distance of 96Km.1The valley lies between two branches of Koh‐e‐Sufaid Mountains.
