Historical Back DropCoinciding with the Syrian revolution, the Syrian Electronic Army (SEA) became notorious over the past year for intrusions into some of the most famous Western news agencies: The Associated Press, NY Times, The Washington Post, and their Twitter accounts have been struck repeatedly. Each attack has not only been more spectacular than the previous but also more technically capable, leading the rest of the world to wonder how the SEA has advanced itself so quickly? The hacker community has known of a breach within the SEA network for the past three to six months. Rumors of a trove of data belonging to SEA acquired through this penetration deep into one of their sites have been rampant, but until now the content has not been closely examined or released.
