BackgroundOn November 2, 2013, two French nationals, Ghislaine Dupont, a senior correspondent for Radio France Internationale (RFI), and Claude Verlon, a production technician with the same agency were kidnapped and killed in Mali. The kidnapping itself, presents no surprise.
