AbstractUndoubtedly, the Islamic Regime bears one of the most atrocious and complicated power structures in comparison with other present political systems in the world. The combination of republicanism and ideological characteristic of this regime has created a peculiar political system in Iran. The structure of power in this political system is based upon four main pillars of the Supreme leadership, Executive, Judicial and Legislative authorities. It would appear that all these authorities are independent and act separately within the structure of this political system. However, a closer and more accurate analysis revealed that this assumption is incorrect and the actual power structure is different. This research explored the relative strength of the Supreme leadership institutions and its effects on the Executive, Judicial and Legislative authorities within this political system by using the Islamic regime’s constitutional law and some other references.
