The Tunisian government announced the dismantling of a terrorist cell that was planning to launch a terror campaign ahead of parliamentary elections scheduled for 26 October 2014. The plan reportedly included the killing of liberal politician Ahmed Nejib Chebbi of the Jomhouri Party with a car bomb. According to Tunisian authorities the financial, operational and information structures of the cell were dismantled.
