Adam Yahiye Gadahn, born Adam Pearlman, the grandson of Jewish grandparents and Christian parents, is an American who is a senior operative, cultural interpreter, spokesman and media advisor for al Qaeda. He converted to Islam in 1995 and In 2004 was added to the FBI Seeking Information – War on Terrorism list. Since 2004, he has appeared in a number of videos produced by al-Qaeda as "Azzam the American". In 2006 he was indicted by a federal grand jury for treason for aiding an enemy of the United States. In 2008 rumors circulated that he had been killed in a drone strike, but in 2010 he was allegedly arrested in Pakistan. In 2013 he appears in videos calling for jihad.
