The Armenian Revolutionary Army was formed to increase awareness of the Armenian genocide and further the cause of Armenian independence. With the collapse of the Soviet Union, Armenia has become an independent, sovereign state, fulfilling the major objective of most of the terrorists and after 1985 the group is thought to have disbanded. However, in 2013 a group calling itself the Armenian Secret Army for the Liberation of Armenia stormed the Turkish Embassy in Ottawa, Canada. In the television broadcast of the event, a spokesman reffered to their group as The Armenian Revolutionary Army.
