The Bandidos gang has a long and brutal history of illegal activity. A member of The Bandidos was arrested, tried and convicted of the 2006 murder of a well known boxer, and a member of the rival Hell’s Angels Motorcycle Club was sniped while leaving a restaurant. With an estimated 800 to 1,000 members in sixteen states (about 400 in Texas alone) and another 1,400 members in Canada, Europe, and Australia, they are now as large as the Hells Angels, from California. In the United States, the club is concentrated in Texas, but extends into Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Arkansas, New Mexico, Colorado, Montana, Wyoming, South Dakota, Utah, Idaho, Nevada, Washington, Oklahoma, and Nebraska. The first European chapter opened in Marseilles in France in 1989, followed by chapters in Scandinavia, in Denmark in 1993 and Sweden in 1994.
