İHH, a Turkish NGO whose members are predominantly Turkish Muslims, is active in more than 100 countries. It's stated mission is to provide humanitarian relief in areas of war, earthquake, hunger, and conflict. The İHH was owner and operator of three flotilla ships involved in an aid convoy intended to breach the Israeli blockade of Gaza in 2010. Nine passengers, many of them members or volunteers for the İHH, were killed in a clash with Israeli forces that raided the vessel as it was on its way to Gaza. Although several governments, including Turkey, suspect IHH of clandestine operations, TRAC's Turkey analyst, Coskun Unal, reports the following: "As far as I know only the Israel senate designated IHH as a terrorist organization because of their involvement in the Mavi Marmara (Gaza blockade) incident.
