The Marwan Hadid Brigade is a Syrian based extremist jihadist group affiliated to Jabhat Al-Nusrah (JN) and the Abdullah Azzam Brigades and based in the Hama region (Syria). The group claimed responsibility for the rocket attacks on Hermel (Lebanon's east Bekaa) on 17 December 2013 which led to the injury of two soldiers, by stating:“At 6:00 pm God allowed your brothers, the Marwan Hadid Brigades, the Brigades of the Valley, and the Commander of Qusair, to target the Labwa region with three rockets in response to this region participating with the Iranian Hezbollah in its battles on Syrian soil.”The Marwan Hadid Brigades added that their objectives are to compel Hezbollah into:“withdrawing its fighters from Syria” and to “release the Sunni inmates from the unjust Lebanese prisons, especially the Roumieh prison.”According to the JN and the Abdullah Azzam Brigades, that released the media statement on behalf of the Marwan Hadid Brigade on Twitter, the attack was in response…
