The National People’s Coalition for the Sovereignty of Congo (CNSPC) is a rebel group active in South Kivu (an eastern DRC region). The rebel group relies on hit-and-run insurgency tactics aimed against the DRC Government and more specifically against Joseph Kabila, President of the DRC. The rebel group relies on gold smuggling, arms trafficking and taxing civilians to secure financial support. The leader, William Yakutumba, seeks to unite rebel groups in Eastern Congo with the aim to oust President Kabila. The CNSPC is being part of an umbrella rebel movement called Alliance of Article 64 (AA64 - the name referring to an article in the DRC's constitution stating that citizens have the duty to oppose anyone who holds on to power in violation of the constitution.Theater of OperationsThe rebel group is active in South Kivu.
