His brigade is aligned to Jabhat al-Nusrah (JN). The brigade is reportedly based in the Latakia countryside and has been weakened by fighters joining the Islamic State (ISIS). Diaby is currently in Turkey, though this remains unverified. Diaby is infamous for actively recruiting French youth to join the jihad in Syria, relying on video releases that are posted on social networks.
