Saraya al-Khorasani is a Shia militia group that has fought in both Iraq and Syria. The group is a an Iranian proxy group as seen in its official logo which is an exact replica of that of the Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). The group is primarily comprised of fighters from southern and central Iraq and its objective is to counter the Islamic State (ISIS). The group's official statements identified ISIS as the only enemy being targeted. Saraya al-Khorasani is regarded as one of the most powerful Shia groups in Iraq that is attributed to direct support from Iran. The group also is an exception from most other Shia groups in that it openly states its allegiance to Iran.
