The Vinlanders Social Club was formed by former members and associates of a rogue racist skinhead group, the Outlaw Hammerskins. In 2003, the VSC rapidly gained notice by hyping the image of a take-it-to-the-extreme crew of renegade skins. Carrying on the vendetta of its predecessor, the Outlaw Hammerskins, the VSC openly challenged the longstanding dominance of the Hammerskin Nation, an elitist league of regional skinhead crews. This brazen defiance, along with the VSC's wild partying, exotic "Odinist" rituals and penchant for brawling, ensured that by the time the Butcher and his buddies gathered to down a few pints in March 2007, the VSC was known far and wide in the white supremacist underworld, its ranks having swelled to the point that it had eight chapters in six states. The Vinlanders appeared to be a coalition of independent state skinhead crews, but in reality the group functioned as a single entity. Groups and individuals included in TRAC's database range from actual perpetrators of social or political violence to more passive groups that support or condone (perhaps unwittingly) such violence. The spectrum of violence represented by these groups is vast, from Jihadists who bomb train stations to financial institutions that transfer funds. Some groups that originally engaged in violence but have since become legitimate political parties are included to provide historical perspective. TRAC is in no way attempting to determine whether groups or individuals are terrorists -- only to convey reported information about their activities and official State status. While TRAC attempts to ensure the accuracy of its TRAC database, the entries in the database are from numerous different sources. Hence, TRAC cannot and does not warrant the accuracy of the entries in its database. The editors of TRAC may modify these entries at any time and welcome comments and suggested corrections or additions.
