The parading of the suspects follow two recent attacks in north-east Nigeria, most likely executed by the Islamic State West Africa (ISWAP), with reported and contradictory statements of 23 soldiers that went missing and 63 soldiers that got killed. The two attacks were at Borno (Bama Local Government) on 13 July 2018 and Yobe (Jilli village in Geidam district) on 14 July 2018.
