On 07 July 2018, al Shabaab has claimed credit for twin bombings and gunfire at Interior and Security Ministry headquarters Mogadishu - near the Somali Parliament building. The office complex is also occupied by the communication office of the road traffic police. More than six people were reportedly killed and a dozen others injured.
