On 26 and 31 August 2018, the Lord Resistance Army executed armed assault and hostage takings at the town of Banda in the DRC. According to the LRA Crisis Tracker, Banda was the center of LRA activity in DRC earlier in 2018 (mid-March through May 2018), though there were no attacks on Banda center itself, which is one of the larger towns in the area.
