On 12 September 2018, at roughly 05:00pm local time, suspected Islamic State West Africa (ISWA) lead an attack with anti-air craft guns, bombs as well as other weapons on a military barracks in Damasak at Mobbar Local Government Area, some 186km away from Maiduguri.
