The situation in southern Syria continues to escalate as the Syrian Army appears to have taken control of the northeastern desert of As-Suwayda. The desert was previously held by the FSA, but Syrian and Russian airstrikes have inflicted heavy losses to the FSA. Meanwhile, IS still tries to project power in the area with false propaganda.
